Wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all. OK maybe we are just a little late, but for a good reason. This past weekend my parents came out to visit young Sam. They were able to make it Thursday evening and stayed until Monday morning. On Friday Courtnee had to work all day and I had to work in the morning and was off the rest of the afternoon. Mom and Dad just hated that (yeah right) since that means they got to spend a few hours alone with Sam. The rest of the weekend included a trip to the outlet mall in the Dells, Fleet Farm for Dad and tried to fix a sprinkler pump that we never got to work.

We hope that you all were able to enjoy time with friends and family over this special weekend. As we reflect what this weekend means to us, we are thankful for all the men and women who have served and are currently serving in our military.

9 mos appointment

So Samurai had his 9 mos appointment today. He's doing so well! I don't think he grew a whole lot from last time he was measured (I haven't checked the books yet), but here's the stats: weight - 17 lb 10 oz and length - 28 in. About a week ago I received a letter reminding me of his appointment and along with it came a packet with a large checklist of "Does he..." Evidentally he's doing very well with his gross and fine motor skills and his social skills. Off the chart as Doc said. Oddly enough for this family, Sam is a little behind on his conversation skills. HA! Nothing to worry about, though. We all know kiddos develop at different rates. The one thing I can say for Sam's speaking skills, he uses "num" at the correct times. =0) That is...when I feed him!!! If he really likes something "mmmm" and "num" seems to pop out. Such an intelligent infant.

Just some fun!

There has been nothing but fun at the Peterson house lately. As you know Sam is moving around like lightning! He crawls all over the place, pulls up and even says yum yum. He has grown a few extra teeth (now has 3) and probably a few hairs (those are hard to count). Now that the weather is getting nice we are spending more and more time out doors. I am constantly playing out in the yard and Courtnee and Sam go on walks while I am at work and when they have time.

So as you can see we are enjoying the fun one day at a time!!

Sam "LOVES" the grass!!

OK, so the title may not entirely be true, but once he gets the hang of it he will love it I am sure. Tonight Courtnee and I had the privilege to watch some of our friends little boys and had a wonderful time. We played with a train, had some cookies and enjoyed some time out side. Here are some photos of Sam enjoying the weather!!

8 months

Sam is now 8 months and counting. Currently at 8 1/2 months and what a trip it is. He is a great little guy and just loves to play. He is walking around furniture now and can almost stand on his own. Just a matter of time before he takes off walking. He loves to chase us around including Franklin.

This last weekend we took a trip to Appleton to get some shopping done and just have a great time. We were winding up the day and decided to stop at the Texas Roadhouse once again. Our limit that we could wait was 20 minutes other wise we were going to go on down the road to the Mexican food restaurant. We get in, get sat at the Roadhouse and right away we had 3 waitresses over at our table. They of course were not there for Courtnee or I they were there for Sam. He totally stole the show in the restaurant. He took to one of the waitresses right away and she carried him around and we got a free baby sitter for a few minutes. Such a wonderful weekend!

The tongue

Sam totally loves his tongue these days. He loves sticking it out and licking EVERYTHING. He has started cutting his first tooth and that is why we think he is always sticking out his tongue to play with his new tooth. He has also found a new love for Handy Manny!! The good thing is that Courtnee and I like it to!
