A wonderful Holiday season is coming to an end. This year we have been blessed in so many ways. Our first full year as parents was a roller coaster ride. We've learned that our little boy has a personality all his own. It's not taught, but acquired. He's funny, goofy, inquisitive, and quite the little stinker at times. "No" has unfortunately become a common word in our vocabulary as Sam Curtis is trying to expand his boundaries. It's ok, though, it doesn't seem to phase him much. We're still learning how to balance our time with a kiddo. It's not easy but we really are loving this whole parent thing.
Kelly is still at Renaissance Learning working as an e-Learning Developer. We were just saying tonight how much he has learned working for the company and how much he truly enjoys working there. It's a real blessing to have such a stable, strong company in a time where those words are not often used. I am, also, still working at WoodTrust Bank in the Loan Operations department. It has been a whirlwind working in this department. I don't really know where the year went. At the beginning of the year is when we saw the mortgage rates drop significantly and it went all willy nilly from there. I, too, have learned so much but still have so much to learn about loans.
We had a great Christmas as we were reminded once again this year that we are thankful for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kelly put together a little slide show of a few scenes from this holiday season. It was Sam's first Christmas to actually enjoy opening gifts. We hope that you also had a Merry Christmas and we are looking forward to sharing 2010 with you. To view these photos click here.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all and we wish that we could have been with each and everyone of you this Thanksgiving. Curt, Stacy, Courtnee, Sam and I all had a great time. We watched some football, ate a ton of great food and even got in a few games of bowling on the wii. I had to take some photos for the photography club that I am in at work and also thought that I would share them with everyone.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sam in the leaves
Finally, Sam gets to play in some leaves. Over the past few days Sam has been staying at a friends house while we are at work and had his first opportunity to play in the leaves. He had a great time and just loved laying in them. Also, earlier this week Sam had his 15 month appointment. Can you believe that? 15 months!! Where does time go? He is growing and doing well. Courtnee and I are doing well also. We are just going to work and doing the same thing as last time, taking care of Sam. Enjoy the photos complementary from Chris and Cari Payne. Thanks guys for helping Courtnee and I out while family is on vacation.

Nap time

Sam just started making this face.. It is pretty funny!

Are you talking to me?

Ready, set, Jump!

Chicken Little
OK, so it has been way too long since the last post. Where to begin? Well the last few weeks have been pretty crazy at the Peterson house. The main event was Young Sam catching the flu. More than likely it was the H1N1 virus. He had extreme high temps and chills one night, thus causing a 2 hour trip to the ER. A really nasty cough and runny nose were the big problem and are still lingering. He is doing much better now, though. Sam has finally started growing more teeth too. He actually just grew a molar and it looks like a k-9 is next in line!!
Halloween came and went this year, and Sam did not get to participate too much since he was sick. We dressed him up for just a few moments so he could hand out the candy, but he did not want any part of it. Sam did like to look out the window and see all the other little kiddos walking the streets. Word on the street was that the house across the way was handing out sodas, which Court and I thought was a fun (expensive) idea. We are not that cool. We hand out cheap candy..
As for Courtnee and I, we are still just as busy as ever. We take care of Sam, and when he goes to bed in the evening, relax and enjoy each others company. Mainly we watch all of our shows together. Luckily, they all come on right when Sam goes to bed.

Enchanting Door County
This last weekend Kelly and I took a day trip to Door County. Door County is the thumb of the Wisconsin mitten (if you know your state shapes). It has been said that Door County in the fall is as beautiful as New England. Leaf Peepers come from all around to see the canvas God painted. We have been wanting to venture up at peak season for quite a few years now, and we were privileged to finally do so. Kelly and I wanted to share a few of the pictures that we took. We tried to encompass our whole day and cut it down to this slide show from a few hundred shots. The colors were so brilliant that the pictures don't do it justice, but use your imagination...absolutely breathtaking!

Fall and Pumpkins
This weekend was a blast! Courtnee and I took young Sam on a day trip to Appleton. We webt to the mall, Toys R us and continued the tradition of Chipolte Saturday. Sam was a trooper and did very well! While in toy heaven, a worker at Toys R Us gave Samurai a balloon. If only you could have seen his eyes light up like a little boy at Christmas time. This truly made our experience and day so much better.
Today we finally fulfilled our long time dream of 4 years to pick a pumpkin. We could also do other activities, but it was getting close to Sam's nap time and we needed to get the dirty lad back for clean up and his nap.
Courtnee and I truly love the fall. Next weekend we are going to take a Day trip to Door County so that we can see more of Gods Creation and beauty. Door County is truly one of the most beautiful places we have visited.

Starting for life early.
New shirt, new pants, let's read!
This last week Sam got a new shirt and pants. He just had to show them off!! The past few days have been rough at the Peterson house. Sam has caught his first major cold and just like other little ones likes to share. So Courtnee and I also have had our fair share of sickness this week. Sam is getting better and today started feeling like the old (young) Sam again!

Help I am stuck!
We were having such a nice time tonight with friends and decided to let Sam play with the tupperware drawer while we continued to chat and play with their new bundle of joy. We looked up just as he was climbing in. When all was said and done everything was out of the drawer and he was in it with a stinky diaper!!

How do you eat Breakfast?
Every morning Sam and Courtnee have their ritual for breakfast. Courtnee gets a bowl of O's and shares with Sam. Typically he stands in front of her and watches TV while getting a little morning snack. Well this morning he wanted to do something a little different. He crawled up into her lap and laid back to partake in some good ol' O's.

Cookie Time!!
After waking up from his nap Sam and I decided to have a little afternoon snack. He got his own cookie and nice little cup of milk while I decided to have Oreos and milk. Just another fun time with Dad!!
