I can see 30! (and so can Courtnee)

Boy is that an understatement. Stacy reminded me of that on Saturday night when we returned home from the all day extravaganza to Madison. Courtnee and I had planned for a while to take a trip to Madison (about 2 hours away) to pick up a few items for Sam and also to eat at one of the BEST Mexican food restaurants in Wisconsin.

We had a wonderful time. Starting Friday night after I got home from work Courtnee had surprised me with my birthday cake. The one and only TEXAS CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE. Any time we have an excuse to make a cake we always beg for this one. Courtnee has perfected the art of this wonderful master piece. THANKS SWEETIE!! and thanks to everyone else who has contributed to the recipe!

On Saturday morning we got up looked outside and saw that it was snowing. We were only suppose to get about an inch to two inches. Well that was not the case we got about 3-4. We decided to brave the weather any way and took Sam over to his Weezer and Daddy Curt's. Then off we went.

First Stop - Pot Belly's!! Oh yeah. Good stuff. Courtnee and I got the wreck and I just had to get THE BEST Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in the world!

After eating a good sandwich we went to get a high chair for Sam and we didn't like the ones at Baby's-R-Us so we decided to hit up the Super Target!! Now at Super Target we decided to get the high chair and get out before we bought the whole store or at least the baby department.

Now for the FINAL STOP! ABUELOS! all I can say is YUMMM! Courtnee and I enjoyed the enchiladas and also we got a Sangria to share. It was mighty tasty as well!! We hope you all have a wonderful week and we look forward to sharing more with you this next week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

What a fun day the Peterson's had today. All three of us literally bummed around the house. There were some productive moments though. Kelly and I took 6 month photos of Sam Curtis today. He's quite photogenic. We didn't make it as far as we wanted with him. He did very well through the naked photos, but that was expected. He likes to be "nakie". That's naked to the rest of the world. Another outfit he did well in, but by the third take, he had quite enough of that. It was play time!! So below is a sample of some beautiful photos we got of our baby boy.

As for Kelly and I, we did nothing especially romantic today, but there was something very special about it. We played with our baby when he was awake and just hung out together while he napped. We even baked some Valentine cookies together. They are in the shapes of hearts and lips with pink icing. I hope everyone else had their own special day. Happy Valentine's Day!

6 month visit

Today is Friday the 13th and our little guy had to go to the doctor. What a day! It actually has been a great day (besides the shots of course). Kelly took the day off so we could all hang together...an early start to a Valentine's Day weekend. According to the doctor, Sam Curtis is healthy as a horse and growing like a weed. Here are his specs: he is 26 1/2 inches long and 15 lbs 14 oz. So he did not grow as much as last time but he's still doing really well! And if you are a percentile person (we are not) his height was in the 50% and weight in the 25%. All fairly normal. He kind of levels out...we'll see what happens at his 9 month appointment. As for Kelly and I, we're doing great! It's wonderful to have a day off in the middle (or end) of the week just to play around. We bummed around Target for a bit and then ate at one of our fave restaurants up here...The Hilltop. Although they are more known for their fish and burgers, they have the most amazing taco salad. I can't explain it. You'd have to experience it for yourself. It's nothing special in the salad....it's the shell. Holy cow! I actually got the shrimp today because I'm making enchiladas tonight but that's beside the point. Sam, Kelly, and I wish everyone a very enjoyable weekend with lots of love, hearts, and chocolates. Isn't that what you're suppose to have on Valentine's day?

6 MONTHS OLD! and a New Friend!

Today is Sam's half birthday. We just can not believe that our little guy is getting bigger and bigger each day. I know that you all have said just wait, just wait. Trust me we are waiting and cherishing every day that we have with our little guy. We are so blessed to have a happy and loving son. This week we go to the doctor and see how much he weighs, how tall he is and of course all the percentile stuff that makes parents go crazy! One of the things that Sam really likes at this age is all 3 of his kitties. Franklin will only like Sam on occasion, Oliver likes to be close to him, but not allow Sam to touch, and then you have Jack Russell. Jack and Sam are best friends. Jack allows Sam to "easy pet", pull, kiss and even hug him. It truly is amazing that Jack is this loving with the little guy! Here are some photos of the 2 having a love fest and soon we will take some 6 month photos. We will see how well I do and if the pictures don't turn out, we will get them done professionally.

Twins Week...

A couple of weeks ago at work I had twins week. The training department which is my old department had drew up this idea and we decided to play along. So Chris Payne another former trainer and I decided to team up to see if we can edge the girls and win some awards. There were daily awards for best dressed!! It turns out that we were able to win 2 of the 5 days and we were pretty proud. Check us out!

A trip to the Roadhouse

Just a short blog about our Saturday night....Kelly and I had to drop off mom and dad's car at the airport and we thought to ourselves, "Selves, should we do something while we're in Wausau. Yes we shall." So we decided to hit up one of our fave spots, Texas Roadhouse. And it did not disappoint. We decided to invite some friends of ours to meet us up there. I thought if we hit up the Roadhouse early we'd miss the big Saturday night crowd. I even did call ahead seating. But to show my ignorance and not being from around these parts, I missed the fact that the Badger State Games were going on. So...what I thought would be a light crowd and short wait turned out to be packed shoulder to shoulder and still a bit of a wait. Oh well...Sam was a trooper. He loved looking at all the people, TV's, and neon lights.

Sam and His Cape!

A couple weeks ago we received an email from my sister talking about capes. This inspired us to do one of our own!! Sam is rolling around more and more! When he does his bib usually ends up on his back like a cape. This is not as great as story is Logan and Ethan and I am sure that we might have one of those stores, but we will continue with the theme for the time being.

Check out Kindra, Dustin and the boys! http://dklehibbard.blogspot.com/
