The Boys go Backyard Camping

This past weekend Sam and I had a great experience in backyard camping. We spent the night Friday and Saturday night at a friends backyard in the tent. We got up just in time to make it to church (a little late) on Sunday. The weather was perfect, although where our tent was positioned we didn't get air movement so we were a little hot a sweaty by the morning. Good thing we had a pool to jump into. You are probably wondering, where was Courtnee? Well if you aren't, you are now. She was at home, sleeping on her nice pillow top mattress, and cuddling with a furry creature. She did come over for breakfast, lunch and dinner and to help with Sam. She is not much of a camper and she had to get the house cleaned up for a open house that we were having a few days later. The goal was for the boys to do boys things and for Courtnee to have a little bit of quite and relaxing time without the stinky, dirty boys around.

A couple days before, Sam and I set up the tent in our backyard. It is huge for 2 people to sleep in, but that is ok with me.

Bumper Boats in the pool. They were great and by the end of the weekend Sam was able to drive it like a Nascar driver.

Having his first "snore".

Frank showing love to the camera. Oh and probably getting ready to sleep in my spot on the bed.

Lake Time!

This past weekend, one of our friends invited us out to one of the local lakes to have a BBQ and a boat ride. Our little water bug just couldn't help himself and jumped right in. When the boat arrived, we decided to take Sam and the kiddos tubing and on a little boat ride. When it was our turn, Sam and I jumped on the tube and went for a ride. During the fun and un-announced to me, the little hand (that was holding on to the tube) went up in the air with his thumb sticking up. I looked down at the blonde haired dare devil and said, "would you like to go faster?" He looks up at me and says, "yes daddy, make this go faster". And so we did. Here are some photos of Sam playing in the water at the lake. Our friends hold the photos of Sam and I tubing behind the boat and when I get them I will share them with everyone.

Swimming Lessons

Over the past few weeks we have been taking Sam to swimming lessons at Lincoln High School. During the lesson they sung songs, splashed and learned entry level swimming techniques. We had a great time and he always looked forward to going swimming.

Floaties and Memorial Day

Floaties? Who needs floaties? OK, Sam does need floaties, but soon he will be racing in the 200 meter breast stoke in the Olympics. This past weekend we had the opportunity to take Sam swimming at a friends house and we could not keep him out of the pool! The moment he saw the big bath tub he wanted to jump feet first! Our little water bug swam and floated around like he had been doing this for years.

We had a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend! Over the weekend we were able to get the yard cleaned up, house back in order, and even planted some new flowers. Courtnee went to the local Home Depot and picked out beautiful arrangements for the hanging baskets and for the railing baskets. We will get some pictures soon. We hope that everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend just like we did. Also, here is just a little tribute to our troops.
