The Boys go Backyard Camping

This past weekend Sam and I had a great experience in backyard camping. We spent the night Friday and Saturday night at a friends backyard in the tent. We got up just in time to make it to church (a little late) on Sunday. The weather was perfect, although where our tent was positioned we didn't get air movement so we were a little hot a sweaty by the morning. Good thing we had a pool to jump into. You are probably wondering, where was Courtnee? Well if you aren't, you are now. She was at home, sleeping on her nice pillow top mattress, and cuddling with a furry creature. She did come over for breakfast, lunch and dinner and to help with Sam. She is not much of a camper and she had to get the house cleaned up for a open house that we were having a few days later. The goal was for the boys to do boys things and for Courtnee to have a little bit of quite and relaxing time without the stinky, dirty boys around.

A couple days before, Sam and I set up the tent in our backyard. It is huge for 2 people to sleep in, but that is ok with me.

Sam checking out the tent

Bumper Boats in the pool. They were great and by the end of the weekend Sam was able to drive it like a Nascar driver.

Having his first "snore".

Frank showing love to the camera. Oh and probably getting ready to sleep in my spot on the bed.

No Question!

So, no question who the mom is for this child! I think the only thing that he got from me is the hair.

Happy 4th of July!!

We hope that you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We had a great time celebrating our freedom with friends, food and Christ. We spent most of the weekend outside, by the pool or in the sprinkler and are truly blessed with such a wonderful country!

(not a very good picture, but just had to catch Sam's expression while watching the fireworks)

Lake Time!

This past weekend, one of our friends invited us out to one of the local lakes to have a BBQ and a boat ride. Our little water bug just couldn't help himself and jumped right in. When the boat arrived, we decided to take Sam and the kiddos tubing and on a little boat ride. When it was our turn, Sam and I jumped on the tube and went for a ride. During the fun and un-announced to me, the little hand (that was holding on to the tube) went up in the air with his thumb sticking up. I looked down at the blonde haired dare devil and said, "would you like to go faster?" He looks up at me and says, "yes daddy, make this go faster". And so we did. Here are some photos of Sam playing in the water at the lake. Our friends hold the photos of Sam and I tubing behind the boat and when I get them I will share them with everyone.

Cousins come to visit

This past week we had family in town. Kindra and the boys were able to come and visit from Idaho. It was great getting to see the boys again and watch Sam interact with his cousins. The whole time they were here Sam kept calling them "brothers" and when the left he asked when his brothers were going to come back to play. While they were here we went to the water park, played video games, attempted miniature golf and visited the cheese factory. Click here to see a slide show of images.

Annual Pancake Breakfast

Over the past few years we have had the opportunity to participate in the annual Diary Breakfast at Lincoln High School. Our group has gotten smaller over the years, but the pancakes are still just as good! Sam had a great time and can eat his fair share of those buttery short stacks.
